Destination? Grandma's Cabin

7.23.10
Grandma & Grandpa Taylor's cabin in Cascade is our very favorite place to go.  Its always a treat & fun memories are created whenever we go! We are so lucky.  Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Taylor

Walking to Our Father's Place diner

While we waited for our new tires to be put on the car, we enjoyed a burger, fires & ice cream

We took our kids for an adventure walk to the shore of Cascade Lake

Lauren is saying "cheese" for her bear

jumping rocks with dad

Soaking up the last of the sun's rays

I LOVE timed shots! They usually are my favorite because you're always trying to run to get in your place, & the blurps are the best.  They never turn out perfect because you end of tapping the camera just enough to off center it when you hit the timer.  But given the flaws, there is something PERFECT about them

showing me his rocks

Another perfect timed shot as the sun goes down.  This makes me happy

The next afternoon, eating snacks on the deck

This beloved skooter has made multiple trips with us to the cabin!

Seriously! This miss gets to me! I want to eat her all the time.  I love how round her head is, & how tiny her little neck is! Best places to steal some kisses.  She teaches me how to laugh

Davis walking back to the cabin with Grandma T

Setting off on his own adventure with magnifying glass in hand! How fun & inspiring he is.  We enjoyed watching the sailboats all weekend.  There must have been nearly 50+ there, and from all over too.  It must have been a festival or something.  There is something so romantic about sailboats. I don't know what it is?

There is this tiny creek that gives the kids hours of play time! I would love to freeze this moment of them playing...

Their expressions says it all

What a care free afternoon! We really are so blessed...there is wickedness all over the world, & we live in a bubble...looking back on these pictures makes me hope that the Lord will continue to bless us all

Boy, how a magnifying glass & flip flops heightens the excitement & exploration of playing in the creek

Grandpa asked if we wanted to take our fishing poles out on his boat & try to get some fish...ummmm...it didn't take us very long to anwer with a YES! Davis was pretty excited.

A portrait of a real fisherman!

Seriously. this. girl. is. dangerous!  She makes you want to eat her all the time because she is stik'n cute!!Maybe I'm just a crazy mom

Playing with more rocks...Davis found a little journal/notebook & would write things down all afternoon...what a little explorer he is

Lauren please don't eat the rocks!

Lauren greets the guys home from a little cruz that grandpa took them on, after he took mom & Lauren of course

Wow! we always have the best time with Grandma & Grandpa Taylor! Thanks for such fun memories!

bonfire

7.6.10
So we chopped down what looked like a dying pine tree in our backyard with the help of some friends.  We added to the layers of brick & poured several bags of sand...and suddenly we had a huge fire pit in our backyard! Oh the fun times & memories that will be made!

The kids were in charge of finding/gathering little sticks

Our country tis of thee....

7.4.10
The 4th is probably one of our favorite holidays.  Ry's family has a tradition of having a breakfast together, where we hang a flag up, say the pledge of allegience, sing songs, share wonderful & amazing stories.  Both of Ry's grandpas were war vetarans...we are always reminded of their sacrifice & so many others as well.  We truly live in the most blessed nation & owe everything to the Lord for providing & blessing us.  May we always realize our many blessings & duty to be active in exercising our freedom of voting & helping to keep our country the way it was created to be.

There was a neighborhood parade that morning, so everyone decorated their bikes & such.  We barrowed this car from our cousins, & davis would not get off it the night before...which meant that he didn't want to ride it that morning in/for the parade! :)

I could hardly get a picture of him just sitting in it...silly kid

Good morning, & happy 4th of July!

Lauren with cousin Luke playing peek-a-boo

I was happy the way his shirt turned out...maybe this coming year I'll do one for all of us

BBQ at Grandma Nelsons with all our cousins!

Grandma & Grandpa Taylor even came over to enjoy dinner & the program.  What a treat for us!

Lauren with Katie, a favorite cousin

Rob was in charge of leading the program, which was wonderful of course.  Talking of the founding of our country, & the hand of God in our lives

Kids enjoying orange popsicles...Lauren was too fast!

Lauren & her 2 grandpas.  I should have had Ry sit next to his dad & be in the picture

Davis had his face painted

One of my 6 (sister-in-laws included) amazing sisters! Kathy & girls, (Kennedy & Sydney)

Spencer was a sport...

Who knew that face painting was so fun...they sure got in the spirit

My amazing mom & dad!

This picture makes me happy! I love it...especially of my dad.  He has the gift of laughter...
